Bye-Bye to 2020 Well, here we are on the last day of 2020.
It has been surreal, the economy, the pandemic, the racial inequity, the lack of ethics in our government, and the profound disparity of the American people.
While it is hard to fathom one of these scenes, it's overwhelming to consider all of them together. My hopes for 2021 are:
1. I hope we start to really show compassion for one another, regardless of race, religion, preference, or status.
2. I hope we bounce back economically, and that no one must know any food insecurities, or worry about housing, clothing, or health.
3. I hope for a new beginning with new administrations in government.
4. I hope we can begin to see a day where the first thing on our minds when we wake us is not COVID-19. I have lost people to COVID-19, but I have also been able to stay safe and I have had many close to me survive COVID-19. We now have the vaccine and hopes for a better 2021.
So, for 2021, let us all be safe and protect each other. We do not want to be ostriches and bury our heads in the sand, which Contrary to the popular myth, ostriches do not bury their head in the sand when scared or frightened. Ostriches dig shallow holes in the sand to serve as nests for their eggs. The ostrich will use its beak several times a day to turn the eggs in the nest, creating the illusion of burying its head in the sand.
Everyone…stand up and say goodbye to 2020, learn from it, and move forward. Welcome 2021 with an open heart and open mind!!!
