“On the first day of Christmas, my true love gave to me…” We all know the Christmas song, but I’m changing it up a bit. My song is called the “12 Practices of the Holidays”. Even if you do not celebrate Christmas, perhaps you celebrate Hanukkah, Kwanzaa or something else, these practices will work for you. I hope you enjoy!
Day 11
The eleventh practice of the Holidays is—PRACTICE BALANCE. We need to have balance in our lives. A true harmonious balance is a combination of physical, mental, and spiritual. Balance can be defined as a condition in which different elements are equal or in the correct proportions. Balance is probably one of the hardest practices to achieve. We all feel like we are pulled in different directions at any given time. Work-Life Balance has always been a hot topic. Balance of life before COVID-19 is hard to remember, but we long for it. Again, take time for yourself and perform an inventory to see where you need to make an adjustment. Nobody wants to topple over like a Jenga game due to being out of balance. There are many websites that are devoted to creating and maintaining balance in one’s life. Check them out.
